Youth Services Mentor Volunteer Winter 2019

Event Description The mission of the Youth Services Mentoring Program is to empower youth in our community to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their personal potential. Youth Services Mentoring Program envisions a community in which every youth experiences nurturing one-to-one relationships and community support. This will allow them to develop into their full potential, capable of making informed, responsible decisions as involved members of our community.

Winter Quarter: January 7 - March 15, 2019

Mentors must:
• 18 years old
• Complete an online application found at www.youthserviceskc.org (resources tab).
•Once application is received you will be contacted by Youth Services for further instructions
• Pass a rigorous screening process
• Be trained

Volunteer Positions

  • Lunch Time Mentor K-5

    The lunch-time mentors will meet with the youth once a week (30-45 minutes) for the duration of the school year at the school during lunch between 11:00 AM-1:30 PM. School lunchtimes will vary.   • Youth Services Community Based Mentor

    Community-based mentors will meet once a week (1-2 hours) for a calendar year doing activities out in the community. Relationship focus is being friends, being consistent, and accountable in the youth’s life.   • Mt. Stuart After School Club Mentoring Volunteer

    Homework Club takes place Monday-Thursdays at Mt. Stuart Elementary School. Homework Club starts promptly at 2:40 pm and ends at 4:00 pm. Youth Services of Kittitas County is looking for individuals who are ready and willing to help children in grades 1-5 with getting their wiggles out and homework after school.   • General Volunteer

    We welcome students who want to come in and assist with, or create projects related Youth Services mentoring programs. Examples might include: seasonal/holiday arts and crafts, game days, and fundraising events. These opportunities are flexible and our staff is willing to brainstorm with you to create the perfect experience.
