| Description | This is a great way to use your education in environmental studies, geography, sociology, or anthropology to examine the social effects of climate change on vulnerable eco-systems and communities.
Start out by researching current reports on climate change, and the ways in which different geographical areas are predicted to be affected. On a large world map, create a visual display that shows how different regions may be affected. For instance, coastal regions, mountain regions, land-locked regions, and island regions may all be affected differently. You may also choose to analyze regions by continent. Don’t forget to include the social effects of climate change, as well as the environmental. For instance, increase temperatures may cause droughts and water shortages for poor communities, while flooding may cause depletion of agricultural resources. This poster will be displayed in the Student Union building and residence halls. Contact Stephanie at the Civic Engagement Center with questions or suggestions. |
